CRITICAL CARE – DAPHNE
Big hugs and prayers for yet another of our rescues in permanent foster that has succumbed to the dreadful disease of IVDD.
Daffy was transported to ARH yesterday afternoon for a consultation with Dr Lance Wilson CT Scan was performed today and Daffy is in surgery this afternoon.
To be a foster carer is the most important part played in re homing dachshunds; to play the part of a permanent foster carer is another dimension and devotion.
To Debbie and Bill, Daffy’s permanent foster mum, on behalf of D2DR we thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we feel your pain, despair and anxiousness, we know you are worried sick.
Debbie wanted to ad a few words:“18 months ago, beautiful 6 year old Daphne was surrendered to D2DR due to a injury caused to her back.
She recovered with medication and 8 weeks crate rest and hasn’t had any issues until now.
Despite Daffy being probably the most special Foster dog we have ever had, prospective families have been reluctant to adopt her because of her back issues. Hence why she is still in our care.
Operation will proceed this afternoon, so please keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer for this wonderful Foster dog. This operation will give this loving little girl the best chance of a full recovery.”
D2DR support and care for 10 Dachshunds in permanent care; who we have been unable to re home due to illness, old age and IVDD. Through our dedicated permanent foster carers our dachshunds are loved and cared for as well as their multiple visits and medication by these wonderful caring people.
To you, our loving Dachshund Community we could not do this without your continued support and donations that we are enormously grateful for.
Thank you for helping us ‘help so many dachshunds’.
If you wish to donate to Daffy’s spinal surgery or any of our 10 dachshunds in permanent care please donate to our Charity Account.
