Andy is a clever, gentle, very affectionate, 2 1/2 year old male who enjoys spending time outside basking in the sun but is comforted knowing his human is close by.
Due to separation anxiety, Andy would be suited to a couple or family where someone is home most of the day with another dachy for a playmate. Andy is house trained but without access to a doggie door has the occasional accident.
Andy rarely moans or complains unless of course there is unusual noises or birds lurking around that he can’t chase down! He is usually a quiet boy, happy to play with his squeaky toys and run around the house, or be left to rest when he has had enough. He isn’t destructive but will jump on furniture, his foster carer has been training him not to and he’s responding well.
Andy enjoys dinner time but will always sniff out fruit and veggies, even if he has to help himself to the veggie garden to steal the carrots and strawberries!
He likes the comfort of his basket to sleep in, close to your bedroom where he can keep an eye on you but will test to see if he can snuggle into your bed. (Once he is told to go back to bed he will stay in his own bed). Andy responds to basic commands: sit/stay, no, dinner, outside/inside, wees, off/down and bedtime . He would enjoy and benefit from some one on one training.
Desexed, vaccinated, flea/tick and worming and fully vet checked as per our Policy.
