Elliot and Herbert – Litter Brothers – Mini B/T Males – 11yrs 3 mths – DOB 20/09/05

Available for *meet and greet* in Brisbane by appointment
Black & Tan Male Dachshunds – Small standard size.
Must be rehomed together.
Nature:
Affectionate
Well behaved
Well socialised
Good on lead
Good with other dogs
Quiet – only bark when someone approaches residence
Do not appear to suffer from separation anxiety
Good with children under supervision – neighbours children interacted with both dogs with nil issues.
Crate trained
Toilet trained – note: in a new environment they did mark but quickly adjusted (within the day) and started to toilet outside.
Health:
Both had recent extensive dental. Elliot has no teeth remaining, however this does not affect his ability to eat. He currently enjoys a raw diet and is also given a small amount of dry food in the morning. As Elliot has no teeth his tongue tends to stick out the side of his mouth, but this just makes him all the more special. Herbert still has remaining teeth and eats very well and like a typical dachshund eats a little too fast. He has been using a go-slow bowl to try to slow him down. They also should be supervised as Herbert has a tendency to finish first and then try to eat Elliot’s food.
Both have had a number of large fatty lumps removed from the chest and abdomen. The vet has advised that these lumps are not of a concern. Due to this they have a number of scars on the lower chest and abdomen.
They have been fully vaccinated – Annual C5 and Heartworm (will arrange at next visit at Brookfield)
Flea and tick treatment – Bravecto – next due 20 March 2017.
No other health issues. Both are fully mobile. We have been giving them Rosehip Vital Canine since they came into our care and we have already noticed an improvement in their coats and their energy levels.
Suitability for adoption:
Suit mature family with elderly children or retired couples.
Able to walk daily for at least 20-30 minutes.
