Kate Freeman

Hi, I’m Kate, a registered nurse and a passionate dachshund enthusiast. Growing up, I was surrounded by a variety of animals, but it wasn’t until 13 years ago that I had my first encounter with a dachshund and instantly fell in love. I began my search for a dachshund of my own and found my first dachshund, Chloe, a beautiful red smooth coat girl. This kickstarted my addiction to dachshunds and since then, I’ve welcomed into my home Frankie, a black and tan boy, Shelby, a gorgeous long-haired dachshund, and Elsa, a dapple ratbag.

For the past 3 years, I have been fostering for D2DR and have had the privilege of adding three permanent fosters to my family, Beejie, Tobias, and Max. My home is always filled with laughter and love, and my couch is never without a dachshund on it. I am proud to be a part of the D2DR family and am dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of dachshunds in need, by helping them find the perfect families and homes.
