Mario is a little sweetheart, he’s 3 and loves to play and cuddle; currently in foster with another like minded dachshund around his age.
Mario was fully house trained really well as an inside dog, he would go in and out his doggy door to go to the toilet, however the last year he’s been completely an outside dog so his toilet training may need a little bit of work, having said that his foster carer said he’s doing very well.
Mario walks extremely well on the lead, he does though get very excited at other dogs and jumps around barking!
He is good in car rides just lays down or looks out the window.
Mario does not like kids screaming and chasing him so we do not think he is ideally suited to young children.
Mario has lived with two other dogs, he gets along with other dogs but his personality is very “energetic” and jumps around, barks, licks and play bites their face; obviously still a teenager.
Mario is an extremely loving dog, he always excited to see you home, play with you or just sit watching tv with you. Loves getting the ball thrown for him which he brings back.
Mario does suffer from separation anxiety, as most dachshunds do, ideally he requires another daxie to play with but will also require a human at home and would love to sleep in your bed!
If you work full time please appreciate this will not be a suitable match.
