My passion for dachshunds was ignited at the age of four, when my father brought home a striking black and tan standard puppy named Noddy. Though I cherished the memories of Noddy, it wasn’t until four decades later that I finally welcomed my first dachshund puppy, Ollie, into my life. Now a decade old, Ollie’s arrival was followed two years later by the adoption of Oscar, a mini long-haired rescue dachshund who is now 14 years old, and a true survivor despite being both totally deaf and having overcome IVDD. Lastly, there’s Peggy, a sweet long-haired girl who was initially fostered by me with the intention of finding her a forever home. However, with Victoria going into lockdown at the start of the Covid pandemic, Peggy never left, and now she completes our pack of three beloved dachshunds. I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of the loving and supportive D2DR family and community.
