Introducing the gorgeous Freddie, a little anxious and reactive (barking) around new people but given the time and space he settles quickly and becomes your new best friend especially if you have a treat or ball in your hand.
Being a young man he is still very much a puppy that loves to play and has benefited greatly by having other dogs to play with and learn from whilst in foster care.
Freddie came into care as a very fussy eater with a special diet that he point blankly refused to eat but it only took a couple of days for him to settle and learn that meal times are good times and he’s now the first in line and lets you know if your preparation is a little slow, he now also eats whatever is put in front of him and eagerly tries new things, he sits when asked to wait for his food and has also been working on his recall and is doing very well.
Freddie loves the car and is very well behaved, is generally good on walks and will usually ignore small dogs and other people but does get a little overwhelmed with large dogs and a crowd of people and will bark, he does listen to his people though and will move on when asked. Freddie absolutely loves water and would swim and play in it all day if allowed. He loves being outside so his new home would definitely benefit from having an accessible (doggy door) big yard for him to play in and sniff around.
Freddie has lived as an only dog but given his progress being around other dogs it is preferable that his new forever home has another dog of similar size for him to rough and tumble with. He has learned that it is ok to have some down time. He is a very affectionate little boy that adores his people once he has your trust, he likes to sleep on the bed with you, couldn’t be convinced to sleep in his crate like the other dogs (we didn’t try that hard) but being a young dog and still easily trainable should be able to be trained if desired.
Freddie doesn’t fully understand as yet that you can’t grab at babies or toddlers foot to get them to play with you and as such, given the energy and exuberance of this little guy it would be recommended that he go to a home with respectful children over 10yrs of age.
Freddie has been groomed recently and was the perfect gentleman, behaved beautifully even when having his feet and nails trimmed. He will go to his forever home with a vet check and up to date immunisation. He is desexed.
He really is the sweetest little fellow that’s hard not to fall in love with.
If you think you can give this little guy the forever home he deserves please fill in the adoption form and organise a meet and greet, he will give you many years of loyalty, love and laughs.
