FOR LADIES ONLY ADOPTION - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Monty is a beautiful boy with a loving nature and just wants to have a female owner/household only please.
Monty came to us approximately 3 weeks ago, absolutely terrified of men, such a sweet boy has had a couple of homes in the past and has definitively been badly treated by a male.
We put Monty with a very experienced foster family of 3; wife, husband and teenage daughter. Monty is fine sitting on the couch with his fosters and will go over to the male for a cuddle however if he gets up to go somewhere else in the home and them comes back Monty immediately goes into panic mode.
We decided to seek advice from our behavioural vet and Monty is having some fast working calming drugs and some longer taking drugs that kick in fully after 8 or so weeks.
Monty is fine if a male visitor comes to the house as long as his female foster or daughter is around.

Monty has had a couple of other homes before the last temporary owner saved him, it is very obvious that Monty was treated very badly from a Male person.

We feel that Monty would be best suited to a female owner/all female family: he is a one to one boy although is enjoying the company of his 4 other dachshund fosters.

NOTES FROM FOSTER CARER
Current meds
1 tablet (50mg) Trazodone twice a day
1/2 tablet (10mg) Fluoxetine once a day

BEHAVIOUR
Severe anxiety
Reactive barking towards sudden movements made by men. Such as standing up from sitting, entering a room, etc. Able to be distracted by treats and then will not bark until the next sudden movement. Does not bark unless triggered or playing. 

Good with other dachshunds - Good with cats (mostly just ignores them)

Loves snuggles and scratches.  Would love to be on your lap and being petted constantly. 
Great with women.
Playful but equally happy to just sleep somewhere nearby you.

Desexed, vaccinated, flea/tick and worming and fully vet checked as per our Policy
