Slinky and Sunny - Bonded Pair
Sunny is well named, she is the sunshine of her foster father’s days. She is quite the Velcro, Elastoplast, affectionate, smoochie attachment. The only reason you have a lap is so Sunny can be your lap dog. She has a very beautiful timid nature but is not scared. She does love the warm sun in the morning, otherwise she is your new shadow.
Slinky loves the garden and hunting (we watch him with toads though). He has a big heart but doesn’t realise his own size and strength. He also loves cuddles and affection and just arrives with a happy big bound. We had to teach him toileting outside but he seems to have got the routine now.
Both love their food –Sunny’s biscuits are softened with some hot water and she eats better than if it was dry food. We keep an eye on Slinky so he doesn’t eat her dinner also as she will let him eat it.
(currently feeding them Leaps and Bounds variety with toppers/mixers like yoghurt, sardines, bits of other doggie safe foods). They sleep together in one crate at night, but will also sleep in separate crates near each other.
Both are still learning basic commands but have finally worked out “sit” when they see the other fosters siblings getting treats for sitting – monkey see monkey do learning. They can be a bit quick to grab the treats – Sunny thinks her demure size and cow eyes allows her to break all the rules but we are working on that with her. Slinky pulls on the lead when walking but Sunny just ambles beside you.
Slinky showed a bit of crankiness twice (sneering) in the first week when he arrived and didn’t want to get off the lounge but that appears to have been the new surrounds and it hasn’t happened again.
Slinky settled in with foster dogs but had a protective watch over Sunny for a week or two. After 3 weeks he doesn’t worry anymore. Both are great with people and with kids! Slinky is more outgoing and handles kids better than timid Sunny.
Both are De Sexed, Microchipped, Fully vaccinated inc C5 and Heart worm annual, Bravecto and Worming (3 monthly) and fully vet checked as per our Policy.
