Frankie is man’s best friend in every sense of the word, he loved his dad in his previous home and adores his foster dad, he also prefers to play with the male dogs in foster care. Frankie loves playing with and having cuddles with his foster mum but as soon as dad appears on the scene he only has eyes for him and would love to be with him 24/7, given this he must go to a home with a strong male presence. Frankie does not like female visitors and will bark continuously unless being held and has nipped their feet a couple of times, he does settle in time with male visitors though.

Frankie does not like young children and may bite if stressed therefore he cannot go to a home with children under 15yrs of age. Frankie is your typical stubborn and determined little dachshund, he loves his toys, going in the car and going for walks, he usually ignores other dogs but does at times bark at larger breeds.

Frankie is crate trained and sleeps through the night without any issues.

When Frankie arrived into foster care he was walking like a little cowboy but surgery nearly 5 months ago has corrected this and will help protect him from possible leg and knee issues later on in life.

He does have some separation anxiety but this has improved greatly since being with other calm dogs so a playmate in his new home would certainly be beneficial. He hasn’t been left for long periods so someone retired or working from home would be preferred. He does love wandering around the garden so access to a backyard would be good also.

Frankie is a sweet little boy who will let you know when he would like some alone time but will also give you years of love and devotion, he has the gentlest mouth when taking treats and eats his meals very calmly with the other dogs. He does have some stomach sensitivities and is currently being fed half dry food and half raw and loves his sardines twice a week.

Frankie is: Desexed, Microchipped, Vaccinated, Wormed, Veterinary Health checked.
