Hi, I’m a real Honey - Your Little Ball of love
I am female – Red dachshund with liver nose and toenails – I
weight approximately 7.2kg
If you’re looking for a happy, snuggly little girl who will fill your home
with endless love and zoomies — I AM YOUR GIRL!
I am full of beans when I want to and I love to run laps around the
house (and the couch and under my foster carers bed), When I’m
not zooming around, you’ll find me curled up under the blankets —
that’s my favourite place to snooze. Or on the top of the lounge (yes
I am a mountain goat).
I’ll be honest — I don’t love being left alone. I can get a bit anxious
when my people go out, but having my foster brother Buster around
really helps. I am always happy to see you when you come home.
Anyone would think you have been gone for 6 months not 60
minutes. Preferably a forever home where I have another furry
friend for company (male preferably) or a family who’s home a lot of
the time. I am untested on cats.
My Personality
I’m a sweet, playful girl who loves everyone I meet – after the initial
introduction. I do bark but isn’t that what dachshunds are for. I’ve
met some children — I wasn’t quite sure what to think, so I barked a
little, but I wasn’t aggressive. I’m still learning! I love playing with
other dogs, and I even enjoy showers.
I’m really good with my toileting — I use the doggy door like a pro
and usually take myself outside when I need to go. My foster Mum
has not found any surprises in the house – and she won’t because I
am toilet trained. I love spending time in the yard, especially
sunbathing or barking at the Galahs). Rain and storms don’t bother
me one bit; but I am a little bit hesitant to go outside but when I am
brave, I do use the patio for the toilet. I can’t get wet feet you know!
During the day I nap where my humans are and at night, I like to
burrow under the covers or between the pillows. I’ll even go out for
a toilet break when my foster mum goes to bed.
Training & Manners
I’m a clever girl and eager to please.
Toileting: I mostly take myself outside, but I still get reminders
before bedtime.
Lead skills: I’m a bit excitable and might pull at first, but I always
check that you’re still walking with me. And I like to be in front of
my foster brother.
Social skills: I greet everyone with lots of enthusiasm (and maybe
a few jumps), so small kids might need a little space.
Door manners: When you’re arriving and leaving, I will bark at you
– but this is of course my way of saying hello!
I’d thrive in a home with:
Another friendly pet (dog – not tested with cats) to keep me company and I'd prefer a male, and my human at home most of the time.
I’m fully vaccinated, microchipped, and desexed — ready and waiting to find my forever family.
Please pick me!
