Maisie is a petite Miniature Dachshund with the classic Black and Tan good looks and a heart full of love. Born 28 October 2023, this dainty little girl weighs just 3–4 kg, but she has plenty of personality packed into her tiny frame!
Maisie didn’t have the easiest start in life, and when she first came into care she was understandably frightened of everything. With patience, gentle care, and plenty of cuddles, she’s blossomed into a sweet, affectionate companion who loves nothing more than snuggling up close to her humans.
Maisie is desexed, vaccinated (10 Oct 2025), and microchipped, and she’s ready to find her forever home where she’ll be truly cherished.
Personality & Home Life
Maisie adores company and cuddles — she’s happiest when she’s close to her people or another friendly dog. She forms strong bonds and, like many dachshunds, she struggles with separation anxiety, so she’d suit a home where someone is around most of the time and ideally where she has a dachshund friend to keep her company.
She’s cat-friendly, great with gentle older kids, and although she’s a little wary of men at first, she warms up with patience and kindness.
Maisie loves short walks, tasty treats, and squeaky toys. When she feels anxious she can become a bit barky, but a calm cuddle and reassurance help her settle quickly — she simply needs someone who understands her sensitive nature.
Ideal Home
Maisie would thrive in a calm, loving home where she’s rarely alone and surrounded by gentle humans (and maybe another small dog). She needs compassionate, patient adopters who will give her the safety and affection she’s missed out on before.
