Hi, I’m Pippa, and I’m a sweet, independent little dachshund with a big love for adventure!

I’m the kind of girl who thinks a perfect day should include a walk, a car ride, some exploring, a squeaky toy (or two… or three!), and plenty of time hanging out with my favourite humans.

I love being part of the action, but I’m also pretty good at entertaining myself and settling down when it’s time to relax. Basically, I’m an adventure girl with an excellent off-switch!

I absolutely LOVE being outside. Whether it’s exploring the backyard, heading off on a walk, going camping, discovering a trail or simply tagging along for an outing around town, I’m happiest when I’m included.

I also love my toys — especially soft, squeaky ones. Give me a good squeaker and I’ll be one very happy dachshund!

When the adventures are over, I’m just as happy to curl up near my human. I’m affectionate without needing to be attached to you every second, and I’m quite happy to settle on my own on the couch or in my dog bed. I have lived with a little human and love her too.

I already know “sit” and I’m very keen to learn more. Apparently, treats are an excellent teaching incentive, and I wholeheartedly agree!

I’m adaptable and have been doing really well meeting new people and dogs.

I can be a little vocal when I hear someone outside or when new people arrive, and I may bark if I spot people or dogs outside the home. But I settle quickly and am very trainable.

On walks, I’m generally calm. If another dog barks at me, I might politely respond with a little “excuse me, they started it!” bark — but I’m learning that not every dog needs a conversation.

I’m also very good at sharing and have no food or toy aggression, including around other dogs.

Things I’m Working On

House training: I’m well on my way! I reliably use the yard when it’s accessible and get plenty of

opportunities to go outside. If I’m indoors for longer periods, I’m happy to use puppy mats.

Lead skills: I can pull a little when I’m excited because, well… there are SO many things to investigate! Stopping and giving me a moment helps me refocus.

Barking: I’m learning that noises, visitors and dogs outside don’t always require a dachshund announcement. I respond well to training and guidance.

I’d love a family who enjoys doing things together and will include me as part of their everyday life and I do like my doggie pals too.

A secure yard would be wonderful, but it isn’t essential if my family is committed to giving me plenty of walks, exercise, enrichment and outdoor adventures.

I’d love people who understand that I’m still young and learning, and who will continue helping me build my confidence and good manners.

Most importantly, I want a family who will love having a little chocolate-and-white dachshund sidekick following them on life's adventures.
