My name’s Archie and according to all who meet me – I am stunning. Although some people say I look like a little Palomino horse… just much smaller and considerably more mischievous!

I’m a happy, friendly and energetic little guy who absolutely loves my people. I’m happiest when I’m getting cuddles, going on walkies, exploring the great outdoors or generally finding something interesting to get up to.

I also love chasing lizards, annoying my foster sister, chewing the buttons off doonas and investigating every leaf that dares to land on our lawn.I like venturing outside by myself to deal with those pesky leaves. Once I’ve successfully "killed" one, I proudly bring it inside to show my foster dad. He LOVES that part – NOT. Mostly because it gives him something else to clean up!

I’m also almost there with my toilet training and have learnt that the yard is the perfect place for 1’s and 2’s. Although, occasionally, I get a little confused and mistake the dining table leg for a tree. Hey, I’m still learning!

I’m a playful, loving and curious little guy with a wonderfully cheeky personality. I love being around my people and I’m very affectionate — if there’s a lap available, I’ll probably be on it! I’m also quite happy to settle myself when I’m ready for a nap, so I don’t need to be entertained every second of the day.

I’m clever, inquisitive and love exploring new places. I’m also learning lots from my Dachshund foster sister and am getting better every day at things like sitting, stopping, waiting and coming when I’m called.

I can be a little bit of a Sooky LaLa when things don’t go my way, but my foster family says I’m improving all the time. I’m a puppy after all — I’m still figuring out this whole "being a sensible grown-up" business!

I make people smile and have so many things I love to do including destroying toys and doona buttons. I'm not sure why that one made the list, but apparently my foster family feels quite strongly about it!

I really enjoy having a Dachshund friend around to play with, follow and learn from.I have no aggression towards other animals, food or toys, and I’m getting much better at sharing. I can even eat from the same bowl as my foster sister now! A playful, patient small dog who enjoys having a young mate around would be a wonderful companion for me.

Still need a little practice with but I will remind you I am a very clever boy and have no doubt these are very achievable – especially learning that table legs are not trees 😊:-

House training: I’m making great progress and reliably use the yard during the day. I’m still working on my nighttime routine and need a little support while I get there.

Lead and recall: I absolutely LOVE going for walks. I’m learning to respond to my name and working hard on my recall.

Manners: I’m learning to sit, stop and wait, and I’m picking things up quickly.

Social skills: I love meeting new people and dogs and am confident approaching dogs much bigger than me.

I’m looking for a family who understands that I’m still a puppy and who will give me the patience, guidance, exercise and stimulation I need to continue becoming the gorgeous little man I’m meant

I’ll make you laugh, keep you entertained, happily join you on adventures and then curl up beside you for cuddles when the day is done.

Archie is ready to find his forever family — preferably one with a secure yard, a doggy playmate and absolutely NO doona buttons! 😂🐾
