Hi, meet Ramen!
Ramen is a delighful playful and loving boy. His favourite things to do include cuddling with his humans on the couch, going for walks and playing with his toys.

Although a softie, he's quite independent and will happily play with his toys or outside in the yard himself without expecting you to play all the time.Ramen is obedient and will sit and stay, most of the time, on command.  He's learnt to use a ramp to the couch and a doggy door to the yard quickly.  He's a clever boy! Foodwise, he only eats one meal a day, dinner, but loves treats such as cheese and Milky Stix. All in all Ramen is the perfect Dachshund. He is an absolute delight to have around. He's a brilliant cafe and dog park dog who loves to meet grown-up people and other dogs.Personality Highlights:

  • Ramen is crate trained and sleeps locked in a crate through the night with no issues. He often visits the crate through the day for a rest.
  • He plays well with other Dachshunds and well-behaved behaved dogs of other breeds.
  • He has no anxiety or separation issues and is happy to be left alone for a few hours.  However, he would like the company of another dachshund or friendly dog, if possible.

Current Training Progress:

  • House Training: Ramen is house trained but has had the odd accident.  This mostly happened when he was getting used to the doggie door, something he is now confident with. Whilst he mostly uses the ramp to access the couch he can jump up himself so this will need to be monitored to protect him from injuring his back.
  • Lead Skills: Ramen is an enthusiastic walker on the lead. He pulls a little in his excitement but has never been aggressive or barked at other dogs whilst out walking
  • Social Skills: Ramen is very friendly and open to meeting new adults. He does not like young children though so cannot go to a home with children under 10 years of age who either live in the house or visit regularly. 

Daily Care:

  • Diet: Ramen is on a specific diet due to a mild skin allergy. The allergy is managed by diet alone. Note, he is a slow eater.
  • Exercise: Enjoys active playtime and walks
  • Behaviour: No food or toy aggression.

Health Status:

  • Ramen is desexed, vaccinated and wormed. 

Ramen would flourish in a home that offers:

  • A loving environment. He is not an attention seeker but does love to play zoomies with his humans.  He's happy to be with you but also loves being outside in the sun on his own.
  • Canine companionship, as he enjoys the company of other dogs
  • A secure yard for exercise and bathroom breaks
  • Understanding that he'll needs time to warm up to his new people and environments.

Ramen comes with his own bed and blankets a harness and leash.  Lots of toys, a couple of outfits for walking, dog shampoo and conditioner. His new owners will need to provide a crate as he will not sleep without one.
