Scruffy is like a little sponge, soaking up everything around him and picking up new skills along the way—especially when snacks are involved! His love of food has been a great help in improving his on-leash manners, and he’s making great progress with his toileting. He just needs a bit of encouragement and a consistent routine to keep smashing his goals.

At home, Scruffy enjoys the finer things in life: sunbaking like a pro, playing chase with his foster dachshund siblings, and, of course… sleeping in the big bed. (Yes, he fully expects VIP access to your blankets.)

He gets along well with other dachshunds and would absolutely love another sausage buddy to play with, making him a great addition to a home with a fellow long dog. He’s also friendly with respectful kids who understand that sometimes a gentleman just needs his snuggle time.
