A lovable cuddlepie Dachshund looking for her forever home

Meet Willow, an adorable 3.5 year old  dachshund with a heart of gold and a love of cuddles! This sweet girl is the perfect blend of sweet and affectionate, making her an ideal companion for the right family.

Personality & Temperament

Willow has learnt how much fun exploring the yard can be after several months with her foster siblings  (another 3.5yo girl and 16 month old boy). She is willing to please, especially when there’s food involved! Willow  responds quickly to her name or a simple “come” command, eagerly trotting over for a kibble treat—every single time.

Willow tends to bark at unfamiliar sounds but using consistent guidance and calm energy from her humans, she is learning to  settle down.  She has come a long way.

Socialisation Progress

Willow is still learning to trust new people and environments. She is no longer barking at the foster grandchildren by using treats. Her foster family has been working on this by taking her to quiet spots near shops to help her acclimate to people and sounds from a safe distance.

With visitors at home, Willow may bark initially but warms up with a little patience and a tasty treat.

Playtime & Daily Life

Willow loves snuggling on the couch and sleeping in bed with her humans and foster siblings, where she settles peacefully through the night.

House training is coming along nicely— she reliably uses the yard during the day when access is available. She does not like wet grass at all.  When it is toilet time at night it sometimes takes a bit longer to wait for her to decide to go.   However, occasional accidents on the tiles at night mean she’ll need a little more reinforcement to fully master her routine.

Training & Care Needs

  • Walking: willow loves walks and car rides but is still working on leash manners, as she tends to pull in his excitement to explore.
  • Feeding: vet prescribed Hills Precription Diet Urinary Care c/d Dog Food - one cup per day (giving approx 24 days of food) depending how much she gets for treats.  She shows no aggression around food or toys and shares space harmoniously with the other dogs during treat time.
  • Socialisation: she needs patient introductions to new people and environments. Offering her time, space, and treats will help him feel secure.

Ideal Home for Willow

Willow would thrive in a home with:

  • Patient, understanding owners who can continue her socialisation journey.
  • A calm household with no pressure for instant cuddles—she’ll warm up at her own pace.
  • Other friendly dogs to keep her company, as she’s shown no signs of anxiety when left with his furry friends.
  • Access to a yard for playtime and toilet breaks.

Willow is a loving, clever, and spirited dachshund with so much potential. She’s looking for a family who will celebrate her quirks, guide her with kindness, and provide the affection she craves. Could you be the one to give Willow the forever home she deserves?
