Badger is a gorgeous 3.5-year-old black and tan piebald Dachshund looking for a home to call his own. He's desexed, up to date with all his vet work (vaccinations, flea, tick and worming), toilet trained, and travels beautifully in the car.

Badger is the definition of a one-person dog. Once he chooses his person, he loves them with his whole heart and wants nothing more than to be by their side. Whether he's curled up in his soft carrier beside your bed (or on the bed if he's lucky!) or eagerly waiting for pats, Badger thrives on companionship and affection.

Food is one of Badger's greatest loves—he's not a picky eater! He also gets incredibly excited for walks and knows exactly what it means when you reach for his harness or lead. While he enjoys getting out and about, he's definitely more of a leisurely stroller than a marathon runner.

Badger is patient and gentle with children. He currently lives with a mini Dachshund and absolutely loves their daily WWE-style wrestling matches, always knowing when to ease off if his little mate lets out a yelp. That said, Badger would also be perfectly happy as an only-dog.

His ideal home would be with someone who is home often and wants a devoted companion. He doesn't appear to have separation anxiety, but he clearly enjoys having his favourite person nearby.

Badger isn't without a few quirks. He'll bark if someone walks past the house or knocks at the door, isn't a big fan of the vet, and can be a little cautious around men at first, though he warms up with patience. He responds well to his name and "stop," but could benefit from learning a few more basic commands. Every now and then he'll investigate a plastic toy left on the floor, but he's certainly not a destructive dog.

We're unsure how Badger would go with cats. His previous owners reported that he played too roughly with their kitten, so a cat-free home would likely be the safest option. While he's happy with his mini Dachshund foster brother, we're unsure how he'd be with bigger, unfamiliar dogs, so any introductions should be slow and thoughtful.

If you're looking for a loyal little companion who will adore you wholeheartedly, Badger could be the perfect match. He has so much love to give and is waiting for someone special to give him the forever home he deserves.
