Meet Frankie, a charming black and tan dachshund with plenty of love to give, looking for her perfect forever home!

At 8 years young, Frankie’s still got the spunk of a younger pup. She’s a devoted “velcro dog” who’d be happiest with a retired person or couple, or someone who works from home and can be her steady companion. Frankie adores snuggling up near her human all day (and night), and she’d also enjoy the company of a calm canine buddy (though she’ll need a little time to warm up). Her lively prey drive means she wouldn’t do well with cats or chickens as housemates but she’ll keep your home happily free of “intruders” with her trusty bark-alarm at the door.

Frankie was diagnosed with stage 2 IVDD in January which has been successfully treated conservatively.

Because of her gentle but sometimes anxious nature, Frankie is best suited for a calm, child-free household that understands her need for patience and a bit of extra love. In a matter of weeks, Frankie will become your loyal, affectionate companion, ready to fill your days with warmth and her playful energy. Could this devoted little sweetheart be the missing piece in your life?

PLEASE NOTE: SPECIAL CONDITIONS RELATING TO IVDD
Frankie has had an IVDD episode that involved conservative treatment, should Frankie require surgery for IVDD; D2DR will pay for the Surgery less 20% of the surgery costs as if the dog had insurance (to be paid by the adopter). This surgery will be undertaken at Gars in Melbourne.

I understand the dachshund I am adopting has had IVDD DOG whilst in the care of D2DR and acknowledge that the dachshund will not be able to be insured against further IVDD surgeries should it arise3.     I agree to pay 20% of those surgical and hospital costs to D2DR; the same as if I had Pet insurance.    I also agree to pay any ongoing costs to any other medical issues which may occur inclusive of vaccinations.
PLEASE NOTE: This agreement will only apply as long as the dog remains in the ownership of the person adopting him from D2DR.  If at any time you sell the dog to someone else or surrender it to another organisation (other than D2DR), D2DR will not cover any of any subsequent IVDD Surgery.

Desexed, microchipped, vaccinated inc flea/tick treatment.
