If you’re looking for a sweet, smart little dachshund to share your life (and your couch) with — I might just be your guy 

 I’m a very handsome boy with a charm and resourcefulness combined with being SUPER CUTE I may be small, but I’ve got a big personality, and need a little longer to feel safe and comfortable in my new home and then you’ll see how awesome I am.

 I’m pretty clever (if I do say so myself) and I love learning new things, especially when treats are involved.) I enjoy playtime with my humans, short walks where I can take in all the smells and mysteries out there. Post walk I love settling in as your loyal couch buddy.

I walk beautifully on lead but will bark to say hello to other dogs and people. I do need to have a bit of space and let people walk past before I continue my walk.

 I get along well with my other small foster fur family – dachshund and Jack Russell cross Dash, but I think I would be happiest living with just one dog or even better, having you all to myself if you were home most of the time. I’m not a fan of larger dogs, as they make me feel a bit anxious. I have lived with cats and recently met the neighbour’s cat, but I got too close and she gave me a swipe!

 I’m house trained and sleep right through the night like a champ. If your bed is available, I won’t say no… but I’m also perfectly happy snoozing in my crate or dog bed.

I thrive on routine and consistency. I watch my foster mum get my dinner ready and then go and sit on my mat using my manners until mum brings me my dinner. I’m a bit of a foodie, so I do like to eat in my own space when other dogs are around. I’m not fussy, just enthusiastic about a good healthy diet.

 I’m also a chewer, so tough rubber toys like Kongs or the odd fresh bone are my jam (plush toys don’t stand a chance!). I love to play and rough-house with my older foster brother – he says I make him feel young, we growl and wrestle and chase each other around the house. I do get bored but a short walk each day or a friend to play with is nice. I also like playing fetch in the backyard.

 I love car rides and will happily go with my family on the school run or to run errands.

Like most dachshunds, I will let you know when we have visitors and I’m not a fan of being startled. Ill bark at noises I don’t recognise, Fast-moving things like bikes and scooters also make me anxious and I might try to chase them.

 I live with older human children now and like to sit on their laps or use them as my bed!! I love cuddles and a scratch behind the ear.

 I need a family who is willing to continue with my training so I can be the bestest good boy I know I can be.
