About Sadie

Sadie is an adorable loyal dachshund. Her bright, curious nature makes her a delightful companion. Sadie is very protective over her sister Lacey. When Sadie gets her confidence around you, she is a real cuddle buddy!

About Lacey

Lacey is an easy-going dachshund who loves a cuddle, treats and a squeaky toy. Lacey loves to play, the more toys the better! 

Personality Highlights

Sadie loves a game of fetch, she has great energy and can be very curious of other animals, especially birds and chickens. She could not safely be kept with birds or chickens.  Sadie loves her comforts and enjoys a cuddle on the couch when she isn’t chasing a ball. Sadie is a fast learner and loves the stimulation of learning new things or exploring on walks.

Lacey is easy going and loves an adventure. She loves walks and exploring. 

Current Training Progress

·       House Training: Sadie and lacey are reliably using the yard when allowed free access. They will also use a blue toilet pad if she doesn’t have access to outside

  • Lead Skills: Enjoys walks but can be very anxious in the car. Sadie and Lacey are generally very calm around other dogs but can be reactive to some dogs especially larger dogs.
  • Food Aggression:  Sadie can be food aggressive, and it is best to feed her separately. 

·       Social Skills: The pair are great at making new friends with visitors however they may be initially cautious but warms up with patience and treats.

Daily Care

·       Diet: Thrives on kibble, supplemented with homemade chicken, pumpkin and sweet potato. They also love chicken neck and liver treats

  • Exercise: Enjoys active playtime and regular walks
  • Sleep: Settles well through the night when sleeping with family or in a crate together

·       Behaviour: Sadie has some food aggression and while she loves the company of other dogs, she can get a little cranky if they play too rough. Lacey is very easy going and gets along with most dogs and people
