Hi, I'm Calais!

I'm a happy, affectionate and rather stunning looking little Dachshund with a big heart and an even bigger love for cuddles. My favourite place in the world is curled up on my human's lap, but I also enjoy playing with my toys and having fun with my foster brothers and sister.

My early life wasn't the easiest, but once I came into care, everything changed. With the support of the lovely lady who saved me and my foster family, I have blossomed into a healthy, happy, and affectionate boy. Now I'm ready to find an amazing forever family of my own and can't wait to become a much-loved member of a home where I can continue to thrive.

I'm a well-mannered boy who responds to my name and knows how to stay when asked. When left home alone, I may have a few little whimpers at first, but I settle quickly, especially if I have a canine friend around for company.

When my humans are home, you'll rarely find me far away—I'm a true shadow dog who loves being involved in whatever you're doing. Whether you're working around the house, relaxing on the couch, or heading out for an adventure, I'll happily be by your side.

I'm house-trained, walk beautifully on a lead, and absolutely enjoy my daily walks and car rides. I'm also great with young children, making me a wonderful family companion.

While I'm very comfortable meeting new people in my home environment, I can be a little cautious when meeting strangers out and about. With patience and gentle introductions, I'm continuing to build my confidence and making great progress.

At night, I sleep soundly in my crate, which I love because it's my safe place. I do prefer to be in the same room as my humans and furry friends, as being close to my family makes me feel secure and happy.

My Ideal Home

I would love a home where I can be included as part of the family and receive plenty of affection. Another friendly dog would be a bonus, as I enjoy canine companionship and feel more settled when I have a furry friend around.
