Meet Frankie: A Charming Miniature Dachshund Seeking His Forever Home.

Foster Mom says he has stolen my heart and guaranteed to steal yours.

Frankie is an intelligent and playful dachshund who loves his “ballie” with so much affection to give. His loving nature makes him a delightful companion, so if you are wanting a hot water doggie in your bed and have someone follow you around all day at your heel’s he is your man. He’s already shown tremendous progress in his foster home alongside two dachshund sisters. He makes the perfect Personal Assistant if working from home.

Frankie is a quick learner who responds instantly to his name and the "come" command, especially when treats are involved! (He is very picky on his treats and will only eat what he likes – typical male). While he can be independent and enjoys exploring the yard on his own, he also loves snuggling on the couch and sleeping in bed with his human. He's particularly fond of his plastic squeaky balls and loves to have it thrown to him all the time. He is very specific at this stage with his “ballie” the colour being pink and yellow which is his favourite. He is very independent and can be left on his own but will give you the biggest welcome when you get home.

· House Training: Fully house trained, reliably using the yard during daytime hours. He can hold his bladder at night but will need encouragement to use a doggie door – we are working on this.

· Lead Skills: Enjoys walks and car rides (can be a bit Sookie in the car as he has not had much of this training) and is easy on the lead.

· Social Skills: Making steady progress in meeting new people. Initially cautious and barks but warms up with patience and treats. Seems to be fine in any social setting when going for walks.

· Exercise: Enjoys active playtime and regular walks.

· Sleep: Settles well through the night when sleeping with Foster Mum or his sister.

· Behaviour: No food or toy aggression and shares well with other dogs.

Frankie would flourish in a home that offers:

· Patient owners committed to continuing his socialization journey- someone to just give him love and cuddles.

· A calm, structured environment- he will be a barker at first until he understands the noises around him.

· Canine companionship, as he enjoys the company of other dogs but happy to be an only boy if he has human company is around him.

· A secure yard for exercise and bathroom breaks.

· Understanding that he needs time to warm up to new people, but a treat settles him quick.
