Sausage is a rare gem, if you are a lover of standard dachshunds, so hard to find the real deal these days then this guy is for you!

Sausage is an absolutely beautiful BIG boy who just wants to be loved.
He has a sweet nature and is very gentle with his kisses. He looks at you with those big sad eyes and you just want to love, kiss, and snuggle him.
With continued love and attention, he will be an amazing dog as a family pet as he is a quick learner who is keen to please you. He is house trained and can use a pet door if there is one.
He loves a walk and is excellent on a loose lead if you stick to the paths with only occasional stops for a sniff. Also, a lover of the beach and wading in the shallows.
He can be reactive when meeting strangers on your walk or when visitors arrive, but a squirt from the water bottle soon stops that. In fact, we hardly even need the water bottle anymore as his confidence improves daily.
He loves to play with a squeaker ball and his Christmas Pig or just chase. Enjoys being with a family who have another small dog or 2 or by is equally happy being an only dog.
He gets on well with other Dachshunds after an initial 5 minute “getting to know you” phase but is a bit scared of taller/bigger dogs. He was interested in sniffing our daughters’ cats but has only tried to chase the one who ran away down the street.
He absolutely loves babies, toddlers and children and loves to lick them to start with but once he is used to them, just being nearby for the occasional kiss is enough.

He was scared and quite reactive towards men when he first arrived, but has definitely come around as his trust builds, and is now quite the Daddy’s boy.
He loves to rest or snooze on the couch next to you and prefers to sleep with his humans.
We would give sausage a 9/10 as an excellent family pet because he just wants to please you and be loved.

The only negative we have found is that if he is in a very deep sleep; if you are sitting next to him and he is woken abruptly, he gets a fright and occasionally lets out a scary growl, but in time when he's fully integrated into his forever home with all the time and love that he needs this will change as his confidence is builds again to trust his surroundings.

Toilet trained, microchipped, C5 and Heartworm Annual, Flea/tick and worming and fully vet checked as per our Policy.
