About Frankie
Frankie is very new to foster care. He came to us quite anxious and nervous however he has settled
in easier and quicker than expected. He has come out of his shell showing us his beautiful personality and excitable nature.
Frankie is full of energy. He is obsessed with balls, likes to play catch and it’s quite happy to play with his ball alone, however he can be destructive with his toys. This is a work in progress. He loves food, and will likely steal yours off your plate while you’re not looking. Training with food/treats has shown good results.
Frankie is very vocal, you won’t need a door bell. He doesn’t like intruders and will sometimes think you may be one but he will calm down after a quick sniff.
Training & Progress
● House Training: Close to being fully house trained. Uses the doggy door and yard
majority of the time.
● Lead Skills: Loves walks. Walks beautifully on lead when solo or on a dual lead with a friend. Has a lot of energy and likes to pull a little and walk fast.
● Social Skills:
o Can be anxious or scared around young kids.
o Loves cuddles at night time.
o Can be territorial when people visit the house, calms down very quickly once
he’s sniffed you and said hello.
Daily Care & Personality
● Diet: A mix of raw chicken and kibble. No food aggression observed.
● Exercise: Enjoys regular walks and energetic play. He is ball obsessed, a mixture of wanting to play fetch or dedicated chewing time (he likes to destroy balls)
● Sleep: Crate trained with the door closed as he likes to wander if open. Sleeps through the night, very quiet. Likes to have some snuggle time in bed before sleep time and the occasional sleepover in bed with his human.
● Behaviour with Other Dogs:
* Gets along well with his foster sister (dachshund x), playing, wrestling, licking.
* Good at sharing (toys, food etc).
*Hasn’t shown any aggression to other dogs
