Ruby is a sweet black and tan smooth miniature dachshund. She is a gentle, loving and cuddly girl who adores being with her favourite humans. If you want a dog that cuddles, Ruby is your girl. She literally presses her body up against you to love you and feel your love in return. 

Ruby is a smart girl and quick learner. She responds immediately to her name being called and use a ramp onto the couch and a doggy door like a pro. Ruby’s foster family has found her to be an absolute delight to have around. She has thrived on love and affection and is a loyal and happy dog. Whilst Ruby has lived her life as a solo dog, she has relished the companionship of her foster brothers, also dachshunds but perfectly happy as an only dog with someone home often.

She had little opportunity for walks in her previous home but is making up for lost time now and loves them. Her new owner will need to help her feel safe on walks, so she is less fearful when dogs she doesn't know approach her but she is improving all the time.

Ruby is fully house trained with the use of a doggy door.

She is happy to be left at home, either alone or with other dogs. A carrot when you leave is her favourite treat.

At the end of a busy day, she happily sleeps in her crate.
