As a registered nurse, Kate Freeman is no stranger to caregiving, a trait she passionately extends to her love for Dachshunds. Her journey with these delightful dogs began 13 years ago, and it was love at first sight. Soon after, Kate welcomed Chloe, a radiant red smooth-coated Dachshund, into her life, sparking an unquenchable fondness for the breed. Since then, her canine family has grown to include Frankie, a striking black and tan Dachshund; Shelby, a captivating long-haired beauty; and Elsa, a lively dapple.
Kate's dedication goes beyond mere ownership; she has been a foster parent for Devoted 2 Dachshund Rescue (D2DR) for the past seven years. This experience has enriched her life immeasurably and led to the permanent adoption of three fosters—Beejie, Tobias, and Max. Her home is a sanctuary of love and laughter, always offering a spot on the couch for a Dachshund in need.
A proud member of the D2DR family, Kate is wholeheartedly committed to impacting the lives of vulnerable Dachshunds. By providing them with love, care, and, most importantly, forever homes, she contributes meaningfully to the welfare of this charming breed. With each successful placement, Kate continues to affirm her belief in the healing power of love and the incredible bond between humans and Dachshunds.
