About Lilo

Miss Lilo may be small in size, but she has a huge heart and so much to offer her forever family.

Since arriving in foster care, Lilo has taken everything in her stride. Foster brothers? No worries. Crate training? Nailed it. Daytime outdoor living? Easy. Dachshund daycare with ten other dachshunds? She fit right in.

Lilo is one of those rare little dogs who simply wants to be part of whatever you're doing. She's eager to please, loves human company, and settles beautifully into family life.

While she enjoys the company of other calm dogs, Lilo would be equally happy as your one and only. She spends much of her day relaxing and is content entertaining herself, but she truly shines when she's with her people.

Children are one of Lilo's favourite things, and she currently lives happily with an eight-year-old. Unfortunately, the family cat hasn't managed to win her affection, so a cat-free home is a must.

Lilo is fully crate trained, but if you're willing to share your couch—or better yet, your bed—she'll happily accept the invitation. She's generally a quiet girl and isn't a big barker, but she does have a very special "welcome home" song that she'll perform to let you know just how much she's missed you.

She is not an anxious dog and copes well when left alone for reasonable periods. However, she forms strong bonds with her humans and would love a home where she's considered a true member of the family and included in daily life.

Like many dachshunds, Lilo can occasionally become distracted on walks. Ducks, birds, and other exciting discoveries can sometimes make her forget her manners! She can also react to highly energetic dogs, but she responds well when redirected and quickly refocuses when her name is called.

One of Lilo's favourite activities is going for a car ride. Whether it's a big adventure or simply the school pickup run, she's always happy to jump in and come along for the journey.

Simply put, they don't come much sweeter than Miss Lilo. She's affectionate, adaptable, well-mannered, and ready to become someone's loyal best friend. If you're looking for a loving little shadow to share your life with, Lilo may just be the perfect match.
