Meet Taco – Your Future Snuggle Specialist 

Looking for a loyal little companion who will keep you warm, entertained, and very well loved? Meet Taco, a 7-year-old dachshund with a big personality and an even bigger heart. 

Taco is the ultimate cuddle bug once he forms a bond with you. His favourite place in the world? Curled up under a blanket on the lounge (or even better… tucked into bed with his person). He absolutely adores belly scratches, loves a good chat, and will happily let you know exactly what he wants!

 Taco’s highlights:
• Super cuddly and affectionate once he knows you
• Loves walks and sunshine-filled naps 
• Knows basic commands and is very food motivated (training win!)
• Excellent “home security system” – no postie goes unnoticed 
• Gets along well with his current foster brother and sister dachshund
• Expert toy destroyer – tough toys recommended!

 His ideal home:
Taco would thrive in a calm, low-energy home where he can relax, snuggle, and be part of the family. He’s suitable for families with respectful kids over 6 and would do well with another dachshund companion.

He thrives with a strong bond to his person and tends to do especially well with an adult male figure as his “alpha.” He can be a little territorial in his home to outside visitors, but he’s currently working on this with positive reinforcement.

He may be a little stand-offish at first, but with a few treats (his weakness!) and a bit of patience, you’ll quickly win him over.

 The practical stuff:
• Currently on a diet of kibble with a protein/veg topper
• Needs to be fed separately from other dogs
• Almost toilet trained – has made fantastic progress and will take himself outside, though like many dachshunds, he may need a little encouragement when it’s wet 
• Currently working on leash manners (may bark at other dogs but is easily redirected with treats)

• Loves being tucked in at night 
• Prefers sleeping in the main bedroom (and would love an invite into your bed!)
• Feels the cold – so he rocks a cute jacket in winter
• Professional sun baker 

Taco is desexed and up to date with all worming and flea/tick treatments—he’s ready to walk straight into his forever home.
