Rufus and Molly have come from a home with a young family and have found having a toddler around a little too chaotic and are therefore looking for a calmer, quieter environment where they can be the centre of attention and join you on the couch for belly rubs and cuddles.
Like most dachshunds, they will bark if anyone new enters their home but will soon calm down once they’re given pats and become more comfortable with the visitor. Apart from that, they are a fairly quiet and very affectionate pair. Molly does appear to be more timid out of the two and prefers not to be picked up however, she is quick to roll over for a tummy rub. They are currently sharing their foster home with an older dachshund who Rufus is getting along with very well, whilst Molly is not so keen, although she has been on her best behaviour, she just avoids her. As such, this pair deserve to be in a home with no other pets or young children. It’s time for them to be the centre of attention in a calm environment.
As well as daily walks, Molly and Rufus enjoy trips in the car, in fact Rufus will perk up if you mention the C.A.R. word! Both are house trained and are learning to use the doggy door at their foster home. Being typical dachshunds, they enjoy their food a bit too much and have a few pounds to lose, so less treats and plenty of walks is required to keep them healthy. Their foster home has switched them to smaller portions which will need to be continued to get them into better shape.
Whomever is lucky enough to welcome these two munchkins into their home, will be rewarded with the most affectionate, beautiful little souls. Rufus & Molly would suit a retired couple or someone that works from home.
