Angela Meehan, a committed member of the D2DR committee, has a lifelong affinity for dachshunds that began with her first fur-baby, Zak, who shared 15 and a half joy-filled years with her. While Angela has loved other breeds over the years, it's the dachshunds that have consistently captured her heart. This was evident when she came across Miss Katie on the RSPCA Brisbane site three years ago and knew she couldn't leave her behind. Adopting Miss Katie has proven to be transformative for both of them; the bond they share is nothing short of magical.

Becoming a part of D2DR was, as Angela describes it, the best decision she and Miss Katie ever made. The story doesn't end there; Angela's family grew when she fostered Mitzy, a 12-year-old dachshund. Unable to part ways when adoption time came, Angela decided to make Mitzy a permanent part of her family. Now aged 14, Mitzy is thriving and is a testament to the love and care she receives. For Angela, joining D2DR is not just about adopting or fostering; it's about being part of a community that cherishes these adorable canines as much as she does. Delighted by the love and companionship her adopted girls have brought her, Angela is eager to give back to the community that has enriched her life in countless ways.
